My "real cameras" sit dormant, but the images are active

I have not taken a single photo with my "real cameras" since I returned from up north just over one month ago. But I sure have been looking at and sorting through lots of pictures I took with those Canons. What to use - this picture? That picture? How about the other one? Narrow one selection down to 100 images, knowing that in the end I must discard 99 of them - maybe all 100, in favor of something else – which might not even be as good a photograph, but is more critical to the coverage. Actually, I will not use this picture. I may use one of the same setting, but there are better frames. I will save the best for possible publication once I decide, or maybe guess, which one is best.

I love photo editing, but it can be frustrating. This one might have worked, had some of those in the picture not become so interested in Jim, the good black cat without whose diligent help this work would seem impossible.

No! You can't go!

I am trying to take advantage of the Alaska Airlines Permanent Fund Dividend Sale and book Margie and me tickets to Arizona, so we can return to White Mountain Apache country and visit family."No! Dammit!" Jim snarls. "No! You're not going to go off and leave me here alone again!" And there I thought he just wanted to help me book my tickets!

Update, 1053 PM: The email workaround with picture-only worked this time. Then I added the text in my computer.

The black cat and I remain here, a boy has joined us

It's one hour and nine minutes later. I am still on the reclining chair. The fire is still burning. Jim is still on my lap. Lynxton has joined us.•

Not far away a fire burns

It is 8:40 PM. By my reckoning, very early. But I am too tired to do anything. Anything but sit here on this reclining chair, 6 feet away from a warm fire burning in the woodstove, with Jim, the good black cat taking a nap on my lap.•

*I apologize for the long delay in which text sat here alone with no picture. I could have remedied this an hour-and-a-half ago, if I had but nudged Jim off my lap, removed the warm blanket from my body, got up from the recliner, come out here to my office and repaired the damage Squarespace had done to this post. But I couldn't make myself do that. I was too comfortable and so was Jim. Now I will go add the picture of Jim and Lynxton into the most recent post, which has been sitting picture empty for the same reason.

Two artists collaborate: 2 of 2

The cat will be black. They will call it, "Jim."

Note: While the Squarespace app did succeed in including the picture - first try - with the previous two posts and so raised my hopes, it failed on this one.
