I take Margie and Jobe to town; Lynx; new barista at Metro; accident happened upon while drinking coffee
Margie figured she was doing good enough to go into town and resume her babysitting duties with Lynx. So, this morning, a bit after 8:30, I buckled Jobe into his car seat and then went back into the house to grab my camera. I came back out and found Jobe and Grandma sharing something special - just between them. I have no idea what, but it sure must have been funny.
As we do every Monday when I take Margie in, we stopped the Wasilla McDonald's to buy breakfast at the drivethrough. I almost didn't make this trip. Jacob and Lavina are taking a very short, work-related, trip to Reno, Nevada, later this week and Margie will be coming home Wednesday afternoon.
I have a lot to do, did not want to go to Anchorage and figured maybe I could get by with just my bicycle until then. Last night, I asked Margie if she thought she was doing well enough to drive in herself. She said she was. But then one of the things I had to do had to be done in Anchorage and I was still a little worried about her driving. So late last night I told her I would drive her in.
She suddenly laughed happily, threw her arms around me and gave me a magnificent squeeze - one that reminded me of the 23 year-old bride she once was. "Good!" she squealed. "I love it when you come with me!"
I think every week, I will tell her I am going to let her drive and I will stay home and use my bicycle. Then I will change my mind.
After we got to town, Jobe went off to daycare. Kalib stayed home because he was ill. And here is Lynx, the object of Margie's baby sitting, playing with a balloon.
What with all her baristas either getting married or engaged to be married, Carmen had to find some new help. This is barista Cassie. She made my Americano just right. This is actually from a couple of days ago. I am just now getting around to posting it.
While drinking coffee and driving along Church Road, I passed this scene - also a couple of days ago. The bumper to the right is attached to an Alaska State Troopers car. Down below, you can see part of a vehicle and the trooper, talking to some young people.
There was no ambulance and I came back this same way less than half-an-hour later and everything was gone, so I think it was a very minor mishap.

"This is barista Cassie. She made my Americano just right. This is actually from a couple of days ago." I thought you were saying that you'd just gotten around to DRINKING it. I was about to yell at you, to tell you that this cannot be good for a man who's just had some serious surgery.
I loved the line about Margie. She's a very patient woman and she deserves all the delight that you can give her. So get away from your computer and go change your mind about something right now.
Lovely Pictures today...very happy pictures
