Mow the lawn: the boys are always eager to help out

Now that snow is falling, the boys decide it is the perfect time to mow the lawn. We sure do appreciate their great willingness to help out around here.

A few flakes fall and boys go wild

"It's Christmas!" Kalib looked shouted as he looked out the window. These boys then shot out the door and begin to frolic in the first measurable snow since September. Finally, a little snow! I sure hope it doesn't rain next!

That's a fish net Jobe's flying, by the way - for the bigger of my tropical fish. I don't know how he got it.

Melanie hit me with a snowball

We got tired of this late season snow-less existence, so we drove a short distance into the snow. Margie, Charlie, Melanie and me. I had barely stepped out of the car to breathe the still warm air when a snowball smacked into me. Melanie points at the car and denies all culpability. The car was her target, she claims. She didn't know the snowball would ricochet off the car into me.

Melanie has always been good at math. She knew.

Snow on the Escape

I stepped out onto the front porch this morning to discover it is snowing. I don't think it's anything to get too excited about, this isn't THE snow that is here to stay, like the snow that came to Nuiqsut and all of far north Alaska has stayed, but it is a preview of fun things to come here in Wasilla. I am now at Abby's where a fresh, hot, cup of coffee has just been placed before me.
