A woman nearly collides with me and I get accused of honking the horn with my belly!

As we left the gas station and drove through the Eagle River Carr's parking lot, a car started to back out of its space straight at my door. I honked my horn. She stopped with only two or 3 inches to spare. "Grandpa! You honked your horn!" Jobe exclaimed. "You honked your horn with your belly!" And so, for the next 10 or 15 miles, the boys continually laughed and joked about how grandpa had honked the horn with his belly. I did not honk the horn with my belly. I honked the horn with my hand! Then Kalib said he heard a train. We listened, nobody else claimed to hear a train. Margie did not hear a train. I did not hear a train. But then we came to a place where the brush was low enough to see over and there was a train. We are home now. As soon as we got here, the boys headed straight for the dirt pile.

We pick up the boys as their mom goes off to the hospital

We are here at Jacob and Lavina's to pick up the boys. Lavina has day surgery today and will not be able to properly care for them for a couple of days, so we are going to bring them home to Wasilla. Lavina's last Facebook post read, "unspoken prayers." As surgeries go, it is routine, safe and on the minor side. Yet, when you are about to go under anesthesia, get cut into and have your life disrupted for a few days, it never feels minor.

Lynx goes; I eat at Abby's - alone

Well, Lynx is gone now. His mom and his brothers came to get him last night. His mom fastened him into his seat, climbed into the car and they all drove away. That's his mom with the peace and love T-shirt on. He will be back soon, with his brothers.

Here I am at Abby's once again. Just finished breakfast. It was a quiet breakfast - no little boy to chase around. I was able to taste and savor every bite - while it was all hot, no less. Kind of lonesome, though.

This ALMOST concludes my Instagram experiment.

Almost. I will make a concluding post later today or maybe tomorrow and then move on from there.

This morning's Instagrammed breakfast with Lynx, consolidated - including the missing parts*

Breakfast got off to a good start. Lynx began to eat his toast and

Lynx on his fifth cup of coffee

Except for the fact that he's already on his fifth cup of coffee, and is getting a little amped, he's been pretty good so far. In fact the lady at the next table with the other little boy and the baby is just flat-out amazed at how good Lynx is being. Our food is here. I'm going to think less about pictures now and concentrate on eating, and on keeping Lynx from throwing his food at everybody.

Note, 1:27 PM: I made a total of six more Instagram posts after this one covering my breakfast with Lynx. I had intended to transfer them all over here and then consolidate them, along with these first twom into one blog post telling the whole. But as so often happens, when one finds something simple and time-saving, it suddenly turns complicated and time wasting. That has happened here. For some reason, although they show up on Instagram, three of the six remaining images are nowhere to be found in the Instagram album in my iPhone. That is where I need to access them with my blog software to transfer them here.

I did select the three that do show up in the album, along with all the remaining text, and made a draft post to this blog. Only two of the three images came over. So I've got problems to solve. I've also got work to do and no more time to spend solving them. Maybe I will solve them later. Maybe not. No - sooner or later, I will. I just don't know when.
