The game is lost - black cat

ASU fought to the end, came close, but couldn't do it. There is no joy in the Hess household. Unless you are a cat. A black cat, curled up in a pleasant sleep on a warm blanket next to a warm fire on your best friend's lap. Then you are happy. Content. For such a cat, the world is a joyful place. The defeat of one football team by another is of no consequence.

He is so content because cats have no conscience. Nope. None. Ours will eat off your plate if you leave it unattended. One will drink out of your cup when you look the other way. Yes, even hot coffee. Go figure. That same one is a door ninja, and if she makes her escape, she will meow so I can find her in the dark, but she will stay four steps ahead of me just out of reach. She couldn't care less that I am in my socks walking on pointy rocks. However, she will stop and give me a surprised look when I let out an expletive and hop on one foot. All of them will cack up a hairball at my feet so I can step in it and discover the cat wasn't feeling well. Of course the cat is feeling pretty swell by that time, and the nasty thing is all over my foot. Any of them will move in lock, stock, and barrel to the warm spot on the bed if I get up to use the bathroom. Nope, not one tiny bit of conscience. None.
