The way things are at this moment

For the moment, all is good. Margie is back home a day early, Lynx radiates his brightness and light all about the house and Jim, the good black cat, watches over all.

In your photo of Lynx visiting with the pumpkin at the market, was the price for the pumpkin really $17.99? Is the growing season too short in Alaska for pumpkins? We always seem to have an enormous quantity of pumpkins here in northern Michigan. Just curious.
Pumpkins are grown in Alaska, including some very big ones. - officially, 1287 pounds but unofficially as big as 1723. The growing season is very short, but the daylight is long and a prumpkin can gain 20 to 40 pounds a day.
I don't believe there is anything close to mass production of pumpkins here. Plus, it is hard fact that Alaska produce costs more in Alaska than the same produce grown outside and shipped in, due to the challenges and expense of farming here. We grow the biggest vegetables in the world but also the most expensive.
This area of Alaska, including Anchorage and the road system in the vicinity, is far and away the most economical part of the state to live in. Prices here are far less than in the rural areas. I suspect these pumpkins would go for twice this price in some of the rural areas of the state.
Aww, what a cute photo...miss that little little...
internet is horrible here...
give him smooches for me...
Love to you all.
