From the condo we have all rented here on The Big Island of Hawaii, Melanie pulls up current temperature in Wasilla
I do want to blog something from yesterday, but yesterday ended very late after we experienced a big delay before we could board our flight from Honolulu to Kona here on the Big Island of Hawaii and I had no more time and energy to blog, but only to go to bed. Most of us are now here at this place about 30 miles from Kona. We are sharing a condo which brings our daily rate down to something like $50.
Just for fun, Melanie just pulled up the temperature in Wasilla on her phone. For my Celcius readers, that -24 F F would be -31 C - and when a cold snap hits we typically drop anywhere from 10 to 20 degrees colder than Wasilla proper, where the official temperature is taken.
She checked Fairbanks, too: - 45.
When I am home, I take a certain pleasure in cold weather but, right now, from right here, I am quite content to have warm weather and sun.
It is not hot - it is warm and pleasant.

Enjoy your stay
Warm and pleasant is wonderful. Here in Minnesota, it rained first, turned into sleet and then into snow, huge white flakes coming down, like being in the middle of a snow globe. Nice day to stay inside with a good book and dream about Hawaii.
Aww...it looks so beautiful there! See you all soon...
I'm getting really nervous though, traveling with FOUR babies!
We stayed in Kona too!!! Love the big Island!!! So peaceful and quiet. It's 54 now, but to get snow and cold tonight. Soak up some sunshine for the rest of us! Hope you can get over to the black beach on the east side of the Island. The little boys will love it! Can't wait for more pictures!
