Shadow Me - the adventure continues: bit by a shadow dog, almost run over, touches the leaves, tries to steal the mail, can't touch the mushroom or pluck the berry
I could hardly believe it. Two days in a row of the kind of sun Shadow Me loves so well; the kind of sun that brings Shadow Me out of the shadows. He happily joined me on my walk. Soon, two dogs came along - a furry dog and a shadow dog.
The furry dog greeted me with joy.
The shadow dog bit Shadow Me right on his shoulder.
Shadow Me tried to scream out in pain, but he has no lungs.
He screamed in silence.
The shadow dog left with the furry dog, feeling very pleased with himself for having bitten Shadow Me.
Then Shadow Me almost got run over by a pickup truck. It was terribly frightening - for me. Shadow Me did not care. He's been run over before.
We paused, Shadow Me and I, to admire the beauty of a shadow plant.
Shadow Me was so moved by the beauty of the shadow world he could not stop himself from reaching out to touch the shadow leaves.
I told him he was committing an illegal act, but Shadow Me did not care.
Having touched the leaves, Shadow Me walked on, mischievously wondering what law he could break next.
Shadow Me knew it must be against the law to steal another's mail, so that is just what Shadow Me tried to do. He failed. Try as he might, he just could not unlock the mail door.
Shadow Me saw a mushroom growing in the shadows of the trees. He rushed in to try and touch it. He failed. Instead, he just disappeared.
So I touched the mushroom instead.
Next, he tried to pluck a berry, but couldn't. Lucky for him. These berries are no good.
We cut through a marsh. I am certain I would have kept my feet dry, but Shadow Me distracted me and I stepped in a pool. So did Shadow Me.
Soon, we would have to part. Shadow Me waved goodbye.
