Pain eased, sleep came

So I got a morphine shot, semi-dozed for a couple of hours, then got another morphine shot plus a couple of pills. This really knocked the pain down, brought my comfort level up and allowed me to get some decent rest up to about 7:00 am.

This should not be interpreted as solid sleep - too many interruptions for that, caused mostly by my roommate who snores loudly and makes other noises through the night and speaks in a gravely penetratin voice.

The drugs helped me bear these noises, but not completely.

I was sleeping pretty good about 1:00 when he suddenly started to sing - i think maybe it was a lullaby to himself, but it was no lullaby to me.

I put on my headphones, pulled up an album of Apache songs on my iphone
and drowned him out.

Still, on the whole, it was a pretty decent night, the drugs carried me through and, except for gas and pressure building up in my bowels, my pain level is much reduced.

Bill, I don't know how you do it... blogging with all you're going through?? :)
I can't say it's not appreciated, but I really wish you'd take good care of yourself, first.
My prayers are with you, and so I wish you the speediest recovery and the best outcome to all this, from the bottom of my heart.
Get well soooooon !!!!

Continue using music to soothe you. Use whatever brings you comfort and solace. Sorry that you've had a setback. Get well! You are well loved, by those who are close to you as well as many of us out here who have never even met you in person.

Gut surgery is mostly always a tough thing and you can wind up with these kinds of setbacks. Which totally sucks.

Keep your headphones on and come home soon!

Well, I guess we can honestly say that you know what childbirth pain is. Sadly, you don't get the little bundle of joy at the end of your ordeal. I don't think there is anything worse than abdominal pain. Hang in there. You seem to have lots of prayers coming your way.
