Four studies shot from the car while drinking coffee, involving school buses and/or stop signs
This afternoon, a bit before 4:00 PM, I took my coffee break, headed for Metro, then took a short drive with my coffee. I had not gone very far before I had to stop so a school bus could let its students off. I didn't complain. I am always glad to stop for school buses.
I drove maybe 200 yards and then stopped for the bus again.
I continued on to Church Road, then turned toward the Chugach. Soon, I would have to stop again. According to my electronic gas gauge, I only had enough gas to go 12 miles.
So I drove just a little bit further, about one mile to the left of the stop sign, crossed the Little Susistna River, turned around, drove back to Church and headed for home. I took a look in my rearview mirror back at the stop sign. To my great delight, a school bus was turning onto Church behind me.
When I get into the car tomorrow I've got to head for a gas station, first thing. Maybe I will have breakfast at Abby's. There is a gas station right there and it is only 1.5 miles from the house, so I should have enough gas to get there easy.

Love the quality of the photos with this light. Which camera did you use?
love those pictures and the color
Wow, very beautiful photos
You have similar gas-buying habits to me. We must be related.
I love that third photo!
JIm - Canon EOS 5D III - excellent in low light. The EOS 1X is supposed to be even better but costs nearly $8000 and is big, bulky and heavy - kind of like a tank.
Thank you, Twain, Shoshana and Mary Ann.
Wow, the one with the stop sign is absolutely gorgeous! What a scene and what a shot! Do you sell prints?
Thanks Bill. Just looked up the specs on the Canon EOS 5D. Wow!
m - You could order anything from my store but state that you want the stop sign instead. I've got to work on that store some day. It is too outdated and inefficient.
Thank you!
I think I want a copy of that stop sign photo as well. It's just...stunning.
