Momma gets pulled away from brand new baby Nathaniel to go shoot some caribou; they are back together now and there is plenty to eat
About one week ago, Lolo Ahmaogak was home enjoying the company of her new baby Nathaniel (Pamiuq) when she got an urgent call from her brother Jason. The family was in bad need of caribou to help get them through the winter months, recent hunting had not been that good, but Jason suddenly got the feeling that if they went up the river right now, they would find a bountiful supply of caribou. He told her to drop whatever she was doing and come with him.
She couldn't come, she told him. She was with baby Nathaniel.
"Get a baby sitter!" He needed her to be gunner on this day.
Soon, she was in the boat, headed upriver with Jason and another hunter. Soon thereafter, they came upon a large herd of caribou. Jason got them to the right place. Lolo opened fire. Pretty soon, they had 10 caribou, but the boat could hold more than that so they took nine more. Of the 19, Lolo shot 18, Jason the other.
They spent pretty much the whole night field dressing the 19 caribou. They still need a few more for winter. Jason hopes to get them soon.
Lolo and Nathaniel.

Great story! I can't even imagine how hunted a century or two ago without modern firearms and technology to transport and store food for the long haul.
I would say, Lolo is a very good Marks(wo)man!!
Love this story.
I second VI and Mrs. Gunka. Good job (and very cute baby), Lolo!
